As we develop the marina through late 2018 to early 2019, crew facilities will be introduced and enhanced. Until its completion enjoy some of the surrounding areas entertainment.
From Sète Marina, it is a nice stroll to Sète’s historic town center. There you can indulge in the fabulous food with seafood dishes almost straight from the boat. Shellfish farming and fishing is a large activity with plenty of mussels, clams and oysters to sample.
Sète is also known for its amazing art that shows itself in many different forms. You can travel to one of the area’s museums such as the Musée Paul Valéry, named after the early 20th century poet, philosopher and Sète native, Paul Valéry. From there you can browse 1000s of works then enjoy the views overlooking the Cimetière Marin, a maritime cemetery resting on a cliff. Very close to the marina is the Regional Centre for Contemporary Art, which changes exhibits often to showcase art from all over the region. The architecture in the area lends itself to the artistic scenery with historic buildings, chapels and forts.
There are many watersports to partake in depending on your level of adventure. Take a guided tour through the canals of Sète or for the more adventurous try stand-up-paddle or sea kayak trips. From Sète Marina, take a short trip to relax on the Blue Flag awarded beaches that are of the highest standards. This eight mile stretch of beach is sure to impress.
In August, Sète holds water jousting tournaments that have been tradition since 1666. Stand along the canals and view the honoring of the patron saint Fête de la Saint Louis.
